Natamycin is a natural antibiotic produced by the bacterium Streptomyces natalensis. It is a fungicide used as a food preservative. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea have been reported in some studies in both animals and humans. The European Food Safety Authority (Efsa) considers that the development of antibiotic resistance is not to be feared.
