E160e Beta-apo-8'carotinal

Beta-apo-8'carotinal is an orange-colored natural colorant belonging to the carotenoid family. Its use is authorized in various products, including flavoured yoghurts, flavoured industrial cheeses, ice cream, confectionery, jams, soups and soft drinks. Although it has been lowered, its Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) can still be easily exceeded. It is sufficient for an adult to consume 30 ml of colored soda at the maximum permitted level.
